Fair Time!

We took the kids out to the Cole County Fair the other night. It was very nice weather and we saw lots of friends and family. Jaxon was very excited to go to the "carnival", as he called it; however, he said that he definitely "did not want to ride on the wagon wheel (the farris wheel)!" It was Ava's bedtime by the time that we arrived at the fair, so she just mainly hung out in her stroller with her wipe and thumb (for some odd reason, when you give her a paper towel or baby wipe, she instantly pulls it up to her face and starts sucking her thumb)!!
Jaxon quickly found Cooper, and they were off to the rides. The lines were actually kind of long for several of the kid rides; however, the boys did much better with waiting than I thought that they would
First stop...the jump house!!
This was Jaxon's face prior to the next ride starting; however, he had several funny expressions once it started. As it circled and bounced, there were several times that he looked like he was going to get sick, but he stuck it out and said he liked it!!
By the second ride, he got over his little bit of fear and was grinning from ear to ear the whole time!
Ava was so good, as usual! She was up way past her bedtime, but managed to play peek-a-boo every time anyone looked at her...
Next stop...the big slide! Jaxon and Cooper were trying to figure out how to hold hands at the top of the slide, but there was a metal bar between them. So, when they took off, Jaxon became a little airborne and turned sideways. The look on his face was priceless...wish I could have caught it on camera.
When they got to the bottom, they said "let's do it again!!"
There was one of those maze/houses that you have to walk through all of the obstacles; however, Jaxon was small enough that he needed an adult to go with him...I was the one volunteered (and heights are totally not my thing)!
Note the similarities between Jaxon and I...holding on for dear life!! Cooper just ran across it without holding onto any of the ropes :)
At the end of it was big, covered slide...there was so much static electricity that it shocked you the entire way down...ouch!!
Needless to say...that was the extent of the rides that I participated in!
The last ride was the bumper boats. It was definitely the slowest and longest line; however, the boys thought that they were cool (there pictures weren't as good because it was dark and my camera blurs so bad when I put it on night shot).
Ava was still up and going strong at the end of the night (which was several hours past her bedtime); however, she still had smiles for us!
I later realized that I didn't get any pictures of Abby or Rowan; however, I then remembered that this was the fair and once you are a certain age, it's no longer cool to hang out with adults/parents :)
The next morning wasn't so fun at our house...the kids were very whiny and cranky (and I was tired). I felt sorry for the teachers at their school because we also saw several of their classmates at the fair which equals a lot of cranky kids!!!
