Vacation

Over the July 4th holiday, we traveled to Myrtle Beach for a family vacation.
We had an awesome time!
Jaxon was begging to go to the beach from the time that we stepped off the plane.
We weren't really sure how he would like it; however, turns out that he absolutely LOVES the beach!

My sister, Abby spent lots of time digging in the sand for shells and creatures.

Reid made his way around the beach too.

This little net provided Jaxon with hours of fun.  He was able to catch lots of shells, sand crabs, and even a small fish!

He made his very own "tide pool" (he had been learning about this in school the weeks prior to vacation).

Ava was her usual, sassy self!

This is one of my favorite photos from the trip because it truly captures Josh and Ava's personalities!

We also enjoyed some time at the hotel pool.

We made a trip to the local children's museum.
It was very simple, basic stuff, but the kids loved it!

Those would be intestines wrapped around Jaxon's neck!
They had lots more than just medical things, but I obviously liked these areas the best.

Ava LOVED being the person to answer the phone at the emergency medical clinic.
Don't you love how she has the phone upside down.

We also visited Ripley's Aquarium.

One of my favorite places was Brookgreen Gardens.
Lots of statues, beautiful landscapes, and history.
I would highly recommend stopping here if you are ever in Myrtle Beach.

The park was filled with lots of these trees.

We weren't exactly sure what the mossy stuff handing from the trees was; however, this is what Josh decided to do with it!

Here's Mom and Dad in the gardens.

Reid, relaxing and taking it all in!
He was so good throughout the entire trip!

Abby celebrated her 18th birthday there on July 4th, complete with fireworks and all.

"No, Mom...I didn't eat Oreo s for breakfast."
I have a feeling that he had an Oreo or  two every morning!

One of the kids favorite things (besides the beach, of course) was their Krispy Kreme hats that Uncle Trent brought them.
We were all excited about the warm, fresh donuts, but the kids thought the hats were the coolest things EVER!!

On the last day, we had to make one more trip out to the beach.
Ava spent most of it napping.  She was pretty wore out!

Jaxon soaked every last minute in, from digging in the sand to running in the waves!

As we walked back to the car, Jaxon said "Dad, I wish we could just live here".
We had such a good time and I'm glad that the kids really enjoyed it!
