After visiting Kurt, Carrie, and baby Simon a few weeks ago, we stayed in KC for a mini vacation with the kids and some family. We stayed at Crown Center and visited several of the attractions. Oddly enough, we have never been to Crown Center before, yet we lived in KC for several years!
Most of Crown Center was connected with these raised, glass covered walkways. The kids thought that they were pretty cool. The adults just liked the fact that we didn't have to go out in the blazing hot sun to get everywhere!!
We made a stop by Kaleidoscope. It is a free attraction owned by Hallmark. They apparently furnish all of the supplies with leftover items that are used in making their cards and such. There were multiple art stations stocked with all kinds of supplies such as cards, die cut shapes, tape, scissors, stickers, pom-poms cardboard, envelopes, markers, etc. The kids could just go from station to station at their own leisure and create whatever came to mind!
The kids (plus Josh and Mike) had a blast playing in the fountains at Crown Center. Sorry to cut you out of this picture, Mike...you stood up too quick!
Kian figured out a fun way to aim the fountain!!
We also went to a Royals game. I was very impressed with all of the attractions that they had at the Stadium that were kid-friendly. Here's Jaxon getting ready for a timed run of the bases...
There was also a small field where kids could hit a few balls and make a full run around the bases. Jaxon thought this was pretty cool!
Ava sporting her new Royal's hat on the way home from the game.
This was the first baseball game that both kids had been to, and they did really well! Jaxon loved checking everything out at the stadium. Ava loved the periodic music/sounds during the game, and clapping when the crowd did!
On the last day of our trip, we visited Schlitterbahn waterpark. The kids LOVED it. I didn't bring my camera into the park, so no pictures to share. However, I did catch this picture of Ava about five minutes after we left the waterpark...
